This weekend marks a special milestone for Janni Bars – I’m heading to Showcase, Ireland’s premier creative expo, and I couldn’t be more excited! Not only is it an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and friends in the industry, but two of our products – the Vetiver Deodorant and the May Chang Soap Bar – have been selected for the prestigious Edit at Showcase.
Why Showcase Matters
Showcase is one of those events that always brings out the best in the Irish creative community. It’s a chance to meet other makers, share stories, and get inspired by the talent and passion that surrounds us. For me, it’s also a rare opportunity to step out of the workshop, connect face-to-face with wholesale store owners, and gather invaluable feedback on our products. Feedback from these events has helped shape our range and inspired some of our best-loved bars.
The Power of Community
One of my favourite things about these weekends is catching up with fellow entrepreneurs. Running a business can be a solitary journey at times, so being able to swap stories, share advice, and celebrate each other’s wins is something I truly cherish. Im happy to say that through other events I have build up a nice circle of friends, that are amazing to toss around ideas with. The conversations, laughs, and shared experiences remind me why I started Janni Bars in the first place – to create something meaningful, not just for myself but for a wider community.
Our Products in the Spotlight
Having the Vetiver Deodorant and May Chang Soap Bar chosen for the Edit is a huge honour. These products represent the heart of what Janni Bars is all about: natural, effective, and thoughtfully crafted for both people and planet. I’m so proud to see them recognised, and I can’t wait to hear what buyers and industry experts think. The Vetiver Deodorant, with its earthy scent and gentle formula, has quickly become a customer favourite, while the May Chang Soap Bar’s uplifting citrus notes make it a staple in so many homes.
Looking Ahead
I’m expecting a busy few days of conversations, feedback, and (hopefully!) some exciting new wholesale opportunities. Events like this are a fantastic way to learn what retailers are looking for and to keep improving our range. I always come away with a notebook full of ideas – from packaging tweaks to new product inspiration, and even little details that make a big difference for our customers and stockists.
