Micas are a group of minerals that are found in rock. The micas used in Janni Bars products are cosmetic grade natural based pearlescent pigment. There has in the past been issues around the mining of mica and the use of child labour and unfair conditions for miners which has lead to companies using synthetic micas instead. Now, the industry have improved conditions and our supplier gives the following statement:
"Pure Rock Mineral Cosmetiques can not and will not justify the exploitation of any human life, adult of child. We have taken great care to get to know our suppliers directly and do not purchase any products/ raw materials from companies or middle exporters so we are very sure to know the exact origin of the products that we stock. We also work closely with any new suppliers to ensure that they have the same commitments towards human rights as we do. Due to child labour issues in India at present, we do not stock any products from this source"
